Sectors

Six sectors. One integrated practice.

Our services focus on the following sectors — each anchored by a multidisciplinary team and a track record of delivery across Malawi and the wider region.

Traffic & Transportation
01

Traffic & Transportation

Transportation planning, road network design, traffic engineering and road safety — combining authority insight with private-sector delivery to unlock land value and move people safely.

Transportation is one of our core fields of expertise. Our work spans transportation planning, road network planning, traffic signal design and operations, traffic impact studies, aviation planning and design, operational analysis with micro-simulation, demand modelling and operational management of networks.

Serving private clients in land development, we combine our experience in road and transportation planning with a deep understanding of authority requirements — unlocking the value of land through integrated transportation planning and efficient access design.

We design road infrastructure and associated drainage works, including bridges, culverts and drifts, and we supervise the construction of freeway interchanges, arrestor beds, arterial streets, and major safety and capacity upgrades to existing roadways.

Road safety is a shared passion. We pair engineering rigour with specialist road-safety knowledge and education, working actively with communities — and especially vulnerable road users — to deliver a comprehensive road-safety consulting service.

Water Supply & Sanitation
02

Water Supply & Sanitation

Modelling, planning, design and operations consulting for urban and rural water systems — from source to tap, plus low-cost sanitation and borehole programmes.

Our experience with water supply, treatment and distribution systems covers modelling, planning, testing, design, construction management and operations consulting. We have direct experience in urban and rural water projects involving supply, treatment, disinfection, residuals management, distribution, pumping, storage, and instrumentation and control.

We design low-cost sanitation facilities including ventilated improved latrines and eco-san technologies such as Sky-loos, with a strong focus on equity and inclusion to accommodate all users.

We also plan, explore, test, design, drill and rehabilitate boreholes — supporting communities and institutions with reliable groundwater supply.

Irrigation & Drainage
03

Irrigation & Drainage

Planning, design, rehabilitation and supervision of surface and pressurised irrigation schemes — backed by hydraulic, agronomic and economic modelling.

Our irrigation experience spans planning, development, rehabilitation, monitoring and evaluation of irrigation and drainage systems.

Capabilities include system modelling for surface and pressurised irrigation, soil investigations for agronomic and engineering purposes, financial and economic modelling of irrigation projects, crop water-requirement estimations and irrigation scheduling, and the engineering design of hydraulic structures, pumping stations, night-storage reservoirs and instrumentation control — all underpinned by construction supervision and management.

Buildings & Civil Infrastructure
04

Buildings & Civil Infrastructure

Industrial, commercial, health, educational and residential buildings — designed for performance, longevity and the people who use them.

We understand that developers need destination design, strong customer-flow patterns, maximised return on investment, highly leasable tenant configurations and city-process expertise. Our retail clients look for a unique experience and image that draws customers and sets them apart — and our teams bring the right mix of creativity, operational understanding and project experience to deliver it.

For corporate environments — characterised by constant, rapid change — our design professionals are known for spaces that meet today's demands while anticipating tomorrow's. We aim to create environments that enable collaboration, informal learning and operational efficiency.

Our facility-design approach is built on partnership and synergy with stakeholders, deepening understanding of project goals and delivering quality both in process and outcome. Our portfolio spans urban and suburban environments, new construction and renovation — including educational facilities (classrooms, libraries, laboratories), conference centres, outdoor advertising infrastructure and multi-storey residences.

Building on our reputation for practical, sustainable and progressive design, we integrate green-design features into every educational facility — using a range of energy-conservation tools to deliver some of the most acclaimed academic facilities in Malawi.

We specialise in the design of structural elements such as foundations, columns, suspended slabs, staircases, beams and retaining walls, and are skilled in detailing, scheduling and material estimation including structural steel.
